There's nothing you can't do, coz' you're in New York Christmas last year was spent in the most special way, and also it was my first time spending it away from home. Moreover, it was spent at the place I had always wanted to be; in New York City :) Still remembered us spending our Christmas Eve back in San Francisco at Fisherman's Wharf, and then subsequently leaving for Oakland Airport at some 4am plus to catch our flight to LaGuardia Airport in NYC. It was shivering cold back in New York, so cold that I couldn't feel my hands and feet. And imagine my happiness when I saw and experience snow for the first time on Boxing Day; and everywhere looks really pretty and it really seems like a dream to me! The short 2 days in NYC was not enough for me to see everything I wanted, where I had only managed to see the World Trade Centre, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre, Brooklyn Bridge, & Times Square. Such a pity I didn't had time for the Statue of Liberty :( But I would definitely be back in NYC some day! It was time to leave the United States on the 28th December 2012, after having spent a four and half months there. The feeling of finally catching my flight back home to Singapore was really very happy, because I know I'm leaving the States with no regrets - for I finally know and understood the true purpose of being an exchange student back in UNC, getting to lead an independent life I had always wanted albeit not being as easy as it seems, and finally traveling as much as I could. It was also an added bonus as I did managed to get to the places I had always wanted to be at, esp. in San Francisco and New York City; not forgetting seeing snow for the first time in my life!! :) All in all, the time spent in the States had been especially fruitful and fulfilling, and I know for sure that it would be a chapter in my life that I would never forget :) |
